Overview
In today’s knowledge-based economy, IP is a key asset and its effective management is vital for the
success and sustained growth of technology-related businesses.
This Master of Science in IP Management (MSc IP Management) is targeted at mid to senior
management level professionals with an engineering and science background who wish to specialize in
the management of IP in a technology related environment. This is a multidisciplinary field which spans
law, management science and engineering.
It is jointly offered by the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Law.
Curriculum Requirements
The curriculum for the MSc in IP Management consists of mainly two parts: Intellectual Property Law and
Management of Technology. The Faculty of Law is currently offering the Graduate Certificate of
Intellectual Property Law (GCIP) through the Intellectual Property Academy of Singapore1. The Faculty of
Engineering is also offering the MSc in Management of Technology (MOT).
A full-time or part-time candidate for the degree of Master of Science in IP Management must
successfully complete a programme of study consisting of 40 MCs:
(a) Completion of the GCIP (with merit),
(b) 20 MCs from MSc (MOT) modules.
Students will have to successfully complete the GCIP (with merit) first before proceeding to the MSc
(MOT) modules.
Completion of the GCIP is equivalent to completion of 20 MCs at the graduate level.2
Subject to the approval of the Programme Manager for MSc (IP Mgt), students may be allowed to take up
to 4 MCs outside the prescribed curriculum in lieu of the required MSc (MOT) modules to complete the M
Sc degree.
Modules
The students should complete a programme of study consisting of two parts:

Part II: Completion of a programme of study on the MOT course consisting of 20 MCs, selected from the
following MOT modules:
1. MT 5001: IP Management (4 MCs)
2. BMA5251: Managing Technology and Innovation (4 MCs)
3. IE5208: Systems Approach to Project Management (4 MCs)
4. IE5211: New Product Management (4 MCs)
5. MT5002: Management of Industrial R&D (4 MCs)
6. MT5900: MOT Research Project (8 MCs)
At the discretion of the Programme Manager, one of the MOT modules equivalent to 4 MCs can be
substituted for an equivalent module outside this prescribed curriculum.

安排学生住进学生公寓，并协助学生签署租房协议；
协助学生办理入学注册手续；
代办学生证、学生学期车票；
代办新加坡境内医疗、以外伤害保险手续；
代办银行开户手续；
协助学生购买日常生活用品；
提供转学、转专业、转学分咨询；
代办留学签证续签、留学签证转工作签证；
协助解决在新加坡遇到的生活、学习问题。
