GIST aims to groom future leaders in selected areas of technology. Specifically, the Masters of Science in Industrial Chemistry will be an enabling postgraduate course for specialist engineers for the pharmaceutical, as well as the fine and speciality chemical industries.
The M.Sc. in Industrial Chemistry will differentiate itself from M.Sc. courses currently offered by theNUS and TUM?Department of Chemistry and the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering by
an experienced international teaching staff, including of Nobel Laureates (e.g. Prof Robert Huber, Prof Peter Wilderer, both TUM), with a considerable proportion of specialists from industry
laboratory skills taught in compact whole-day courses of one week each (4 courses)
development of cultural awareness through student exchange, language programme, and cultural immersion
the inclusion of economics, business administration, and management science in the curriculum.
This full-time programme runs over an 18-month period:
10 months of course work
2 months of internship in an industrial partner company operating globally (in Asia or Europe)
6 months of research work leading to a Master′s dissertation
This Master's programme breaks away from some of traditional university education by offering a research and application focussed set of features like
4 compulsory, 4 to 6 out of 12 elective modules

laboratory skills' training taught in full-day courses
industrial internship in a company operating globally

The tuition fee?per semester for the?IC (M.Sc.) programme is

SGD 15,000
This fee is including:
matriculation fees at relevant universities, teaching and examination fees
lab materials and expenses
expenses for intercultural program, including tickets for events and industry excursions
all fees for scripts, excluding text books
usage of all university facilities at TUM and NUS / NTU or relevant universities like library fees
all administration fees
fees for computer and internet access
excursion and off-campus expenses for mandatory events
The total tuition fee is payable to the German Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) in three equal instalment payments. The payment schedule is as follows:
1st payment is due in July upon confirmation or admission to the programme
2nd payment is due in January
3rd payment is due at the end of June
