OVERVIEW
This course is designed for practising engineers and information technologists who wish to improve their knowledge and skills in the generic area of communication engineering or seek specialisation in one of the following three areas: Telecommunications, RF Engineering and Wireless Communications.
PROGRAMME STRUCTURE
A candidate will be admitted to the programme either as a full-time or a part-time candidate at the beginning of an academic year. Classes are conducted in the evening on a semestral basis. The requirements for the degree include satisfactory completion of a total of 30 academic units (AUs). This would typically consist of four core subjects and (i) four electives and a research project of 6 AUs based on which a dissertation must be submitted, or (ii) five electives and an independent study module. Each subject of 3 AUs consists of 39 hours of lectures. Classes for each subject will be held once a week and examinations will be conducted during office hours at the end of each semester.
The minimum and maximum periods of candidature for a full-time candidate are one year and three years respectively. The minimum and maximum periods of candidature of a part-time candidate are two years and four years respectively.
